# How many applications does it take to get an interview in Saudi Arabia?

There is no published, reliable number of applications you need before your first interview in Saudi Arabia, because it depends on your field, experience and city. What you can control is three things: how many suitable jobs you apply to, whether you apply in the right place, and whether you follow up and know what happened to each application.

> Nobody can give you a guaranteed number for an interview. What makes the difference is applying to enough jobs that fit you, and knowing what happened to each application.

## Why does nobody reply?

The complaint is common. In a review of a job app on the Saudi App Store, a user wrote: "قدمت على اكثر من 500 فرصه ولا فرصه منهم اتصلت" ("I applied to more than 500 openings and not one of them called", 2 Sep 2026) [1]. Common reasons:
- The application never reached the company itself, because it went through a middle platform while the company hires from its own system.
- The CV was not read correctly by the hiring system.
- The job closed or the posting was pulled.
- The company does not reply to every applicant.

The full checklist is in [applied to many jobs and no one replies: what to do](https://getbadali.com/guides/applied-no-reply?lang=en).

## Volume versus focus

Applying to everything wastes your time, and applying to very few leaves you waiting. The middle ground:
- Apply to jobs that match your experience and field, even if you do not meet every requirement.
- Do not apply to jobs reserved for others (for example under Saudization decisions).
- Reach the same company through more than one route: its hiring system and an email to HR.

## When to follow up

- After you apply, check your status in the company's system if it has a candidate page.
- If you sent an email and got no reply, you can send one short follow-up after a reasonable time.
- Do not email the same company again and again.

## Applying plus email

Some companies take applications in a hiring system such as Workday, Oracle or SuccessFactors, and some hire through the HR email. If you use both routes, you reach more companies.

On Badali, an application costs between 0.44 and 0.59 SAR depending on the plan, and every plan includes emails to companies on top of the applications. You choose each job and each company, and you see the status of each email: delivered, bounced, or replied.

## FAQ

### Does applying a lot hurt?
Applying to jobs that do not fit you wastes your time and the company's. Applying to many jobs that do fit does not hurt, and it is what raises the number of replies that can reach you.

### How many applications should I make a week?
There is no single number that fits everyone. Set a goal you can keep, track what happened to each application, and adjust based on the replies.

### How do I know my application arrived?
In the company's hiring system you see the status on the candidate page. On Badali you see every application and every email in your account.
