Mistakes that get an email ignored
- An empty subject like "CV".
- A long body that retells the CV.
- Sending one email to several companies so everyone shows in the "To" field.
- The wrong company name (copy and paste from an earlier email).
- A download link instead of an attachment, or a Word file instead of a PDF.
- Sending to a personal address instead of the official address on the company's domain.
FAQ
How many lines should the email be?
4 to 6 lines are enough. The attached CV has the details.
Arabic or English?
The language of the job posting. If the posting is in English, write in English; if in Arabic, write in Arabic. With no posting, English is common at large companies and Arabic at local organizations.
Should I state my expected salary in the email?
No, unless the posting asks for it.
